Tajka Studio (pronounced 'tie-kah) is an independent, slow fashion brand founded in 2021 by Tajka Wierzbicka Alvarado.
Working as a costumer I need to have many items on me at all times, including a charged phone, notebook and tools. I designed a versatile multi-pocket skirt for myself in 2020, which became the first prototype of the Work & Play Five Pocket Skirt: the first garment in my line conceived with all my values in mind.
The simplicity and comfort make the skirt versatile enough to go to work or out partying without the need of a purse, and comfy enough for a hike or a Netflix binge. The organic and plastic-free aspects came naturally as I have been exposed to the season-driven overproduction resulting in waste and devaluation while working in the fashion industry.
While I handle every aspect related to the product, my husband Daniel assists me with photography, marketing and other tasks.
At Tajka Studio, when it comes to making the garments, it's just me. Each piece is handmade to order and custom fit for you. I design, cut, and sew everything. Since each item is only created when ordered, this means I do not carry any stock and nothing is pre-made.
All items are 100% plastic free and made from 100% organic cotton.
Most orders take about 2 - 3 weeks. As each garment is handmade, I absolutely have your size!
